On June 16, 2009, the SFMTA approved an $18.7 million contract with Brookville to rewire the 11 ex-Newark PCCs and remanufacture the four remaining Torpedoes, 1006, 1008, 1009 and 1011 along with PCC 1040, 1912 vintage, Class A, Car 1 was loaded onto a flatbed for transport to Brookville for its own restoration contract. As far as the ex-Newark PCCs (1070 - 1080) are concerned: Specific items for this segment of the contract include: |
| As far as the four Double-Ended PCCs (Torpedoes) are concerned: - The pilot PCC shall be delivered and ready for acceptance testing within 540 calendar days from the date of SFMTA’s Notice to Proceed to the Contractor. - SFMTA will test the pilot PCC for a period not to exceed 1,000 miles or 60 calendar days, whichever comes first. - After receiving written approval of the pilot PCC, the 2nd car shall be delivered to MTA for testing approval no later than 90 calendar days later. The remaining PCCs shall be delivered to SFMTA at a rate of at least one car per month. The Contractor proceeds at its own risk prior to SFMTA’s written approval of the pilot PCC streetcar. - All other Project deliverables are due to SFMTA within 150 calendar days from the date of SFMTA’s written approval of the pilot PCC streetcar, including spare parts, training materials, documents, etc. Specific items for this segment of the contract include: |
